Bruthen Cottage is...

a comfortable three bedroom timber cottage in the country village of Bruthen in East Gippsland, at the junction of the Great Alpine Road and the (alternate) Princes Highway.

The cottage is a splendid place to stop and rest while cycling the East Gippsland Rail Trail, exploring the Great Alpine Road or the Sydney Melbourne Coastal Drive, travelling to and from Mt Hotham’s ski fields or just looking for a quiet place to recharge for a few days.

Bruthen is a delightful village perched above the meandering Tambo River, with a wide treed village green down the centre of the main street which is lined with good places to eat. It is on the doorstep of both the Gippsland Lakes and the Victorian Alps: it is nicely placed between Melbourne (3 hours drive to the west), the gorgeous South Coast of NSW (3 hours to the east) and Canberra (5 hours to the north).
